Speeding Up Document Processing for Attorneys

What is it?
Discovery Sphere (later renamed to eDiscovery Point) is a platform designed to help small law firms and solo attorneys quickly process, search, and review legal documents. By streamlining document uploads, enhancing search functionality, and leveraging predictive coding, it reduces the time and cost of legal document review.
Problem Statement
Small law firms and solo attorneys face a major challenge when it comes to efficiently processing and reviewing large volumes of legal documents. The traditional process is slow, costly, and often overwhelming, especially when juggling complex eDiscovery tasks.
My Role & Solutions
I collaborated with another designer to deliver production-ready screens on a tight deadline for a project codenamed Discovery Sphere, later renamed to eDiscovery. My focus was on creating spec sheets to facilitate the quick delivery of user stories and ensure accurate, smooth designs. We used OmniGraffle due to platform limitations, as Sketch wasn’t available at the time. Our design streamlined the document review process, enabling users to easily upload, search, and review documents faster and more efficiently.

Figma Screen Preview
The interface was designed to help attorneys quickly search, filter, and review large volumes of legal documents with streamlined panels and intuitive tools. To maintain confidentiality, sample data is used in these screens.
Task Flow Optimization
Created detailed spec sheets to guide developers and accelerate user story delivery. Working alongside another designer, we divided and conquered key interface flows—ensuring consistency, clarity, and a shared visual language across screens.
Outcome
eDiscovery won 3 industry awards for its user-centric design and innovation, making it a standout tool for small law firms and solo attorneys. The product significantly reduced the time and cost of legal document review, allowing users to find relevant files in minutes with predictive coding and quick, accurate searches.
